George Papandreou’s Statement in Parliament During the Introduction of the Budget Bill for 2005

PASOK — “I wonder, why so much enthusiasm,” proclaimed the President of PASOK in his remarks. “It has already been a lost year for the economy and this budget proposes that two more years are lost. This is no more than a deficit budget!”
 
“This is a budget that will further discredit the nation,” added Mr. Papandreou. “Our credit rating has already been lowered by banking institutions abroad. We cannot trust this budget, as we can not trust this administration.”
